In case of an emergency, such as a broken pipe inside the home, all customer's should know the locations of the water shutoff valve insider their house. This shutoff valve is usually located on an exterior wall in the basement or on the ground floor. The water meter on the customer's side should have a shutoff valve that can stop the flow of water into the house. The district recommends that if a shutoff is not currently installed, one should be.
